Both Marble Mountain lots were completely full when we arrived at 7am. Road is rough and narrow in places but should be manageable in any vehicle. Lots of people on the mountain by the time we started up at 7:30.
Solidly packed path through the forest on the approach; spikes were nice but not necessary. Pretty good steps all the way up with no need for snowshoes. Around 5 hours to the top of the route; I think we ascended at about the rate that the snow softened because the footing felt consistent all the way up.
Major cornice danger around the crater. Many people too close to the edge. We made the traverse to the true summit (40 minutes round trip) staying well below the crown of the snow. Some of the existing tracks on the traverse were not in safe locations, especially in the saddles between high points. If you can see Lava Dome, back down at least 40 feet. Sunk in a bit on the traverse with the relative lack of previous steps, but nothing difficult without flotation.
Began the descent around 1:45. A couple decent glissades in the steepest sections, but the snow was too slushy by that point to promote picking up a ton of speed. Saw evidence of some very small wet loose avy activity. Down in slightly under two hours to find plenty of parking available.
