Poo Poo Point - Chirico Trail — Friday, May. 19, 2023

My first time on this trail. I hiked it this morning with a baby in a backpack. It was slow-going (the trail felt unrelentingly uphill), but there was plenty of shade and the morning fog had mostly cleared by the time we reached the top. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the top, watching a big group of paragliders launch. There was consistent traffic on the trail, but I wouldn’t consider it crowded. There were empty parking spots when I started (~9:30) and got back to the car (~2:30). It felt like a very safe path to hike solo too. It was chilly enough in the shade at the top that I’m glad I brought a packable puffy jacket to throw on. Great day and a great hike!
