We arrived at the parking lot a little before 9am. Parking for Rattlesnake was already an overflowing mess, but the parking for the Cedar Butte trailhead was only a third full. We only saw one other hiker on the way up and on the way down we saw about 7-8 groups (not counting the ones on the wide/smooth John Wayne Trail part.) We had the summit view to ourselves for most of the time we were up there. It was a nice hike and we were happy to not be in a long conga line of hikers.
