I hiked up as far as the creek crossing, where I had a nice break in the sun. There were lots of blowdowns, and plenty of mud and water on the trail once you get close to the crossing. Neither of which really caused me any problem. I took the short side trail on my way back out and ate my lunch on the shoreline. It was so peaceful. There were no other hikers on the trail today. I'm sure this area will be very busy this weekend!
There is a portapotty at the trailhead, but I didn't check it out for conditions.
