By navigable, do you mean by any vehicle, or by high clearance? And the scratches were because vegetation is growing into the road, or because you had to choose between avoiding a pothole and avoiding branches?

I found many of the branch scratches to be unavoidable for my Ridgeline Truck - a few might have been due to pothole avoidance. I'm not sure exactly how many inches of clearance would be needed or what my truck has - one can get away with surprisingly low clearance by driving slow.
