On Friday 6/23, I worked with a large group of volunteers from the Naval Air Station Whidbey to do some trail work, clearing brush and removing invasive weeds. On Washington Trails Day, Saturday 6/24, I went back to hike one of the trails they worked on that I did not see the day before. I hiked the Bluff Trail from the Gun Battery to a spur near the beach parking lot. The Bluff Trail was in pretty good shape thanks to the Navy volunteers. I went on the spur because I had encountered heavy overhanging foliage in that area on a recent hike. They Navy volunteers had done a pretty good job with that, but they did not get it all. A little more work is needed. It will be cleared soon.
