Unfortunately, would not recommend this hike.
The path was well-maintained, and path was routed effectively with some variety of ups and downs.
Personal preference, which isn't objective, but these weren't ideal: many horses on the trail. I also personally don't prefer these network-style trails where one has to decide on a route, and figure out which way to go when the trail branches.
In many ways, the hike wasn't ideal. All very young forest, hardly a glimpse of old trees - and apparently clearcuts.
But the biggest issue is that there weren't views! We must have taken a bad route - we took the holder ridge trail up and road a back. Halfway through we could glimpse a bit of a view to the south through the trees, but for nearly the entire time, there was no real view to speak of. Must have missed the timing on wildflowers, just grass and gravel. So I was disappointed.
