Not much to add to the detailed description by WTA. Trail in fine shape. Went on a perfect summer day. Flowers just coming into their own. Only downside was biting black flies, which were present in the upper half but not that bad on the summit. Amazing thing was that we saw only about 5 or six parties the whole day - on a perfect Saturday in Summer. One of the all time top 5 hikes in WA. There isn’t a better vantage point to see Glacier and the expanse of the North Cascades.

The first 20 miles or so was quite good. The last six miles (Green Mountain Road) was much rougher (potholes, rocks) but not that bad if you take them slow and fairly easily manageable by most vehicles.

There is definitely some brush that is unavoidable in that last section of the road but it was not constant and didn’t feel that overgrown. .
