Owyhigh Lakes — Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023

Great choice if you are looking for less crowded. At 7 am on a Sunday, we were the second car in the lot. Just a beautiful incline in the forest, totally shaded until you reach the meadow at the top. Cloud of mosquitoes about 1/2 a mile in, where it is pretty damp, and then it wasn’t bad the rest of the time. We didn’t go all the way down to the water. Just sat and enjoyed the view of the lakes and surrounding peaks. Saw a bunny, some woodpeckers, no bears today. Last week was probably peak for wildflowers, less bloom today in comparison
