Nice morning hike!! No restrooms at trailhead so you might want to hit the gate ones first. The trail is in great shape, just some roots in different areas. The incline is not too bad, makes it easy on the knees coming down since it's gradual. The flowers are slowly fading away but still pretty. You walk in the shade most of the hike until you get to the meadow and at the lakes. I could hear the bugs but I had bug spray on. Once in awhile you get the annoying flies by your ear!!! I was the only one at the lakes. More people heading to the lakes on my way back. Work party on trail also. No mountain view so I went to the visitors center to eat my lunch!!
