The first part of this trail was a good place to get into some shade after hiking back from Berkeley Park in the sun earlier in the day. I pulled into White River Campground and found a place to park in the shade in the "picnic/climbers" parking lot. It is a short walk to the Glacier Basin trailhead from there, which is where this trail begins. The description says it is approximately 1 mile from there to reach the side trail for Emmons Moraine. Seems about right. It was a lovely walk through the impressive forest and after one switchback, several hillside springs, small waterfalls and wooden bridges, the sign for the trail appeared to the left as described. The log bridge over the White River was solid. The brief gravelly switchback up the hill was less so, and I found it helpful to use my poles. (I am a person who is a bit balance challenged, so others may find this no big deal). At the top (as another trip report from 'Nevithiel' noted), there are three trails (photo included) with no signage as to which is the intended one. Per their advice (thank you) I went right, and that was correct. I will say the trail went on much further than I thought it would; however, and I did not go all the way to the "end of maintained trail" sign, as it was just too hot, and I had seen the intended view from several of the side trails to the left. It was an impressive up close view of the glacier. The picnic tables back at the parking lot are another great place to cool off afterward. Enjoy!
