The best times to hike Tolmie Peak are early in the season (when the road opens and is still in decent condition), early in the day (before the heat and hikers, hikers, hikers), and ideally on a weekday when you might get lucky and get a good parking spot. But you hike when you can, so we hit the trailhead on a Sunday, mid-morning, and end of August. Road in was rough and slow, trail was busy but hikers were dispersed and parking conditions required a bit of a hike to get to the hike!. Yet the hike was still great, particularly with a stop at Eunice Lake to cool off.
