Was the first one to the trailhead at 930 on a Friday. Saw a total of four parties as I was working my way back to my car.
The trail gets narrow and a bit overgrown at times, so I was soaked from the dew on the plants that kept brushing up against me on the way up. Fortunately, things were less damp on the way down.
I went to the summit first. Clouds were rolling in and out, but I still got to enjoy the views and was glad to have the lookout to myself and my dog. Reached it in about 2 hours. From there I went to the lake. It was a nice view, but neither my dog or I were tempted to jump in, so it was a short stop. The bottom of the lake looks mucky and fortunately it wasn’t hot at all. About three downed trees that required scrambling on the way to the lake. Bugs were manageable at the lookout, but worse at the lake.
Returned to my car at about 2:30. All in all, it was a good, secluded hike with awesome views. Would recommend.
