Source Lake — Tuesday, Jul. 18, 2023

Lovely day hike to Source Lake! I'm glad we chose a weekday as the Snow Lake trail traffic was busy enough. Once we turned off to the Source Lake viewpoint, it was peaceful and quiet.

The Source Lake trail has a lot of wildflowers and butterflies to take in. Pine Siskin and Hermit Thrush were around, and pikas were vocal but elusive.

This was my first time on the trail and I'm so grateful I remembered my trekking poles. The rocks are everywhere on this trail and not for the faint of footing. I definitely would think twice about this trail again, on that alone. Nevertheless, glad we hiked!
