This is my favorite trail. I feel so small out here. Mt Baker is in your face for a good section of yhis hike on a clear day.
I park at Artist point. I walk the wild goose trail through Heather Meadows to the fire and ice trail. Then i connect with the Chain lake trail at Austin pass. That way you start the trail going downhill you get the climb out of the way, and you simply walk a Traverse to the car. It’s a beautiful 7 mile hike, easy grade regardless of the direction you go it’s just my favorite don’t forget your Northwest Forest Pass and have lunch at the Lakes and enjoy your day.
