Chain Lakes Loop — Friday, Sep. 22, 2023

Beautiful day for the first day of fall hike! We arrived at the Wild Goose trailhead by 7:30 am (on Friday) and were the third car in that lot. We chose to go clockwise because we like to get the stairs going up and done first. Beautiful views of the mountains and lakes all day. Hit the saddle around 10:30 and started down. Passed very few hikers going the ccw route until that point, then on our descent had to stop several times to let people pass.

Did not see any wildlife beyond birds and chipmunks, but the views were amazing. Always check the forecast before going on this hike! You won’t be disappointed when you wait for a clear day.
