This is a short walk to an amazing waterfall. Climbing up to the best vantage of the falls requires climbing up some slippery rocks, but you can still be impressed by the height and power of the falls without making that final climb.
The best part of our trip to the falls, perhaps better than the waterfall itself, was watching the Pink Salmon working their way up toward the waterfall to spawn. You have nice views over the creek and can get down to the bank in places for excellent salmon viewing. The informational sign on the south side of the road at the start of the trail provides some helpful information about salmon runs in the Hood Canal area.
This short waterfall walk is well worth it if you’re in the area, especially soon to see the salmon.
