Trip Report

Snow Peak — Friday, Sep. 22, 2023

Eastern Washington > Okanogan Highlands/Kettle River Range

Spent two nights in the cabin.  Took the winter trail in.  It was a bit more challenging than I expected with a pack on. Your results may vary.  If you're experienced I'm sure you'll be great.

Good news, the camp stove has been fixed and working great!  We only used two cots.  Three were set up, so I'm not sure about the condition of the fourth.

No bugs on the trail, but we really needed a fly swatter for the cabin.  They were constantly getting in.  Stuffing a towel in the door cracks helped.

Reading the logs it had snowed a few inches a few days before we arrived.  There was only a tiny bit left on one side of the cabin by the time we arrived.

The cabin really is a fun and special place.

Thanks for this helpful update! Was there any water at the trough, or did you pack it in? Beautiful photos!

The trough was full with a slow trickle coming out of the pipe. We took water straight from the trough and then ran it through our filter.
