Trip Report

Lake Ingalls — Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Stuart in her glory!

What a crazy day going to Ingalls! Wonderful weather and likely the last good weather of fall and the height of Larch season brought out the hoards today! I knew it would be busy, but I passed no fewer than 400 people on the trail today. I parked 1.33 miles from the trailhead and when I returned there were cars at least a mile further down the road. It was nuts! But the folks were all nice and most didn’t seem to mind me blasting past them as I ran the trail. I decided that since it wouldn’t be a “pristine” or “serene” experience I might as well make it a real workout. Thanks to all who let me pass in either direction! I hope I wasn’t too rude or caused you stress!

It was absolutely insane today. I felt bad telling the family heading up backpacking that there were at least 40 camping groups ahead of them and they might want to think plan B. The parking is the worst!

So many backpackers! That basin was not going to hold anywhere near that many.
