We started at 4th Crossing up at Paradise. We headed over to Mazama Ridge/Lakes trail. Then down to the WT that took us through Stevens Canyon and over to Box Canyon. Approximately 9 miles with very little elevation gain.
Colors were even more spectacular than they were 2 weeks ago. Although some areas are past peak and leaves are already starting to drop around the Lakes Trail, we definitely hit this trail right at peak for leaf peeping along Stevens Canyon.
We saw some Violet Cort mushrooms just before Martha Falls.
The crossing just before Maple Creek CG was much more precarious than it was two weeks ago. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being impassable, I would put the crossing at an 8. Very sketchy on Saturday.
