We came at this from the west side of the trail via FR 8511. It made for a short trek downhill to the lake. That portion of the trail is fairly easy going. No logs or anything blocking the path. The bridge that's at the lake that gets you over the outflow of the lake is down though. It's passable currently as there isn't any overflow, but I imagine with the rain we're getting and incoming snow, this will be an issue. If I had more time, I may have tried to make a fix. Lots of mushrooms at this time of the year.
The lake looked like it hadn't had any visitors for some time. The main area was mostly some clean, but I did see some broken glass near the makeshift firepit, so be careful if you're planning on a dip. The area in the southern corner is clean. Watched several trout surface and saw a few crawfish crawling near the edge of the lake. I did notice a couple traps behind a tree near the campsite as well, if you're interested.
We hung out for about a half hour and then ran into a couple on their way in from the high rock side just as we were leaving. Had a quick chat and made our way up and away from the lake. All in all a nice little gem that's sorely underrated thanks to high rock taking all the glory, which is fair in some ways. Planning to come back here in a couple of weeks for some catch and cook with a couple of friends.
