It's open!! We arrived on re-opening day at about 9:30am, and there was a handful of cars in the old lot, but there are 2 new lots, which were virtually empty. The road to the lots is now 2-way throughout, and there is no parking allowed along the road. There was an orange tape tied across the Denny Creek trailhead when we arrived, but there were no signs that the trail was closed, so we assumed someone had forgotten to remove the tape prior to the reopening, as the Forest Service had clearly announced the trail would be open starting 10/28 via their Facebook page. Based on the dozen or so people we encountered on the trail, everyone else had the same assumption. The trail is a bit overgrown in spots, hinting at the lack of traffic over the summer. We spotted lots of different kinds of mushrooms. As noted in previous trip reports, the logs crossing Denny Creek at the slide area are gone -- we had no trouble crossing this time of year with the low water level, but it will no doubt be tricky in the spring. We encountered a large cut log across the trail, just before Keekwulee Falls, but it was easy to scoot around. The trees at the overlook to Keekwulee Falls are growing tall, and I'm guessing will obscure the view of the falls eventually. The trail was snow-free until just above Keekwulee Falls; we'd brought spikes, but had planned to turn around at that point anyway, so we didn't really need them.
