Every year we try to do a different larch hike, so this year we went out to Carne Mountain. What was supposed to be a beautiful 60 degree sunny day turned into about 20 degrees with rolling fog the entire time!
The larches were at the end of their prime and the needles were starting to fall off. With the upcoming snow storms they are going to be toast pretty quick. They still have a little vibrancy but not much! https://youtu.be/jhBTUzDZO5I
Overall the trail was in great shape and the elevation gain didn't feel too bad. Just a couple other groups on the trail that day, but overall pretty quiet!
Road is terrible though.
