Unfortunately we didn’t make it all the way up to the parking area. Coming through index the road was gated closed about 10 miles from hwy 2 due to a landslide. We decided to come in from Skykomish which didn’t do us much better. We made it 2.5 mi from the trailhead before we decided to stop. Snow was intermittent on road but the bridges were icy and tracked out.
We decided to walk the road to the trailhead to see how it was. The road there was fine but the trailhead was calf deep, should’ve had snowshoes. We made it another half mile up the trail before I decided I was not interested in breaking trail for 4 miles and we headed back to the car.
Other than not actually getting far up frog mountain, it was a sunny day and the dogs were thriving :) Excited to come back to this one in the spring/summer!
