Karen, Brenda, Jonah, & I took a walk at the Selah Cliffs Natural Area on this cold, sunny day.  From the trailhead (no facilities) we walked up to the Fred Redmond Bridge, then up the sidecanyon just west of the freeway.  When we got to the freeway fence, we climbed a short ways to the top of the ridge and then walked a road south until the ridge dropped off into Selah Creek Canyon where we found a nice place for lunch with views down the canyon to Mt Cleman & Rainier.  It was very pleasant sitting in the sun out of any breeze and we stayed our usual hour or so.  Afterwards, we dropped down the ridge into Selah Creek Canyon and back along the north side of the canyon (to stay in the sun) to the trailhead.  We didn't see any wildlife and only one other hiker with his dog going in as we were going out.  We walked a little under 4 miles with 550' elevation gain.
