Please bury your poop.
please don’t poop near a water source
I’ve been seeing this way too often lately. Starting to feel like every other hike I do.

Pack it out, just like dog poop.
Pack out toilet paper, too.
Stay home if you are unable or unwilling to do that.
Call out offenders and educate them.

The other option is to
A) go far away from the trail (if people on the trail can't see you while you do your business you're probably far enough away) and
B) don't be near a lake or creel and
C) dig a hole, make sure everything's in it, and cover everything with the dirt from digging the hole.
Pooping on, or near the trail, and not burying it is NOT ok!

I agree with the other commenter. Leave no trace practices are to bury, asking people to carry it out is only asking something they won’t do anyway, and so the problem will persist.
