Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

We parked at the Veterans Memorial Park and crossed Jackson Street, walked across the Narrows Bridge, turned around on the Gig Harbor side and retraced our steps back to the parking lot at the Memorial Park.  All told, it was 3.4 miles with an elevation gain of about 6 flights of stairs, according to the phone tracker.

Its a great walk with fantastic views of the islands, esp. Day Island and Marina, Mt Rainier and the beaches along the Sound. Watch out for the many bike riders - it's hard to hear them come up behind so stick to your side of the trail.  Bring your camera because you never know what you will see. Next time I will bring the binoculars.

Tip: I've done this walk about 4 times and it's extra special in the summertime in the morning, when the weather is clear, but anytime is still good.
