Gobozov have covered most important items from the current contortions on his trip report from 04-Feb-2024 - a week ago. So will provide only changes since the last weekend.
1. Road is passable to the winter trail start. Some good samaritan has cut the fallen trees that were 0.2 and 0.6 miles from the winter “trailhead”.
2. Snow starts from the road - half an inch on the first mile and then about a 4-6” at 4,400 ft and then much deeper when you leave the trees. During the week - open areas got about a foot of fresh snow. And below this foot of fresh snow - hard snow crust and sometimes ice.
3. When traversing just below the summit block - there is one more avalanche debris field. A mix of snow and big blocks of ice. The ridge on the right is crowned by ice cornices all the way.
4. We were not able to find the Starbucks on the lookout. Such a pity :(
