The entire hike up was snowy and less than a foot deep in most places. There was up to about two foot of snow on the Huntoon ridge. It was my wife's first time camping in the snow, she was a real trooper making it up, but turned out not to be much company as she slept like a rock the entire night, and on her last trip out early morning to use the ladies room, she left the side tent door open, I awoke with my nose freezing! Back country skiers and snow boarders started to arrive 7AM. It was a new moon with clear ski and we admired the stars, got down to about 23*F. This year has been crazy weather. The prior week it was -32*F at Huntoon Point, I was solo that weekend and called off the overnight, I didn't know if I would survive the low temperatures?

Looks like a fun trip with great conditions! Can you provide any information on the overnight parking situation up there? Do you have to reserve space in the parking lot or can you just drive up and park overnight? Thanks in advance!

You must go to the Mt. Baker Ski Area web site and get the parking info. You need to have an overnight/unoccupied pass for your vehicle if you are going to park in the ski area, that is, until the ski area closes for the year in April. After April the parking will be governed by the National Parks/Forest Service policy. I don't believe overnight unoccupied parking is permitted by the Parks and Forest Service?
