Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
They made it to the top!

The trail was in good shape but very muddy in places and it snowed dip-n-dots on and off during most of our hike. I had two tweens with me, one quite slow, so it was a long hike but very enjoyable. Most of the time, the weather made it feel magical for them and the only point at which we had any real difficulties was when we began our descent. Some clouds rolled in bringing a quick drop in temperature, and on a lot more of the dip-n-dots snow. Add to that the big steps down that are higher than my 11-year-old's knees and she was rather nervous until we got out of the snow again. Going up was no problem but going down proved to be challenging with the snow and mud, even farther down the trail, requiring extra care to help them down the big steps and slick rocky slopes.
