Wind River Arboretum is a place full of vistas. Except, you must be prepared to look up! This is a place to take your time and not conquer as another trail accomplished. I only realized this after meandering for a few. That is when you start to look up and really see the striking differences between these trees.
Arrived around mid-afternoon on a sunny Easter weekend. It was a bit shocking to see not anyone out on this trail except for the two gentlemen (One was a Stephen King fan) who were just exploring the area and found signs leading down the road. The trail directions and information are spot on.
The thought of 'Whimsical' ran though my mind after staying on the main trail heading left for a few. A true arborist probably dreams of this place as their own emerald jewel. Most of this area was a saturated lush green color that can make anyone smile. A lot of the ground foliage is still in hibernation with few new leaves.
There are a decent amount of fallen trees on the backside of the trail near the dry creek. They shouldn't poise too much difficulty to pass over.
