My MIL and SIL were in town to visit and we wanted to take them to an uncrowded trail with a sense of "wilderness" that wasn't too physically taxing, so of course we took a drive to Garfield Ledges! My MIL is fearful of dogs (especially intimidating, poorly behaved or off-leash doggos), so this was a great alternative to Tiger Mountain and other popular i90 hikes.
Road is fine up until the Garfield Ledges parking lot, where there was a few potholes. Nothing a Subaru couldn't handle. Trail is in good shape all the way to the top. There's some nice rock work and beautiful wooden stairs on this trail, so take a moment to appreciate the hard work and engineering!
We have the top to ourselves for a few minutes before a few more parties showed up. After the hike we picnicked down by the river. Great day on a beautiful trail!
