Trip Report
Naches Peak Loop — Thursday, Jul. 31, 1997

We took our book, and
paper and pen, and listed all the flowers we encountered. But take your own book and go, soon. We ran out of paper.... The books say to start at the eastern end of the loop, to face Rainier, unless there is snow. There was snow, so we started on the west. But it was so beautiful, and the only snow was on the first 1/2 mile of the eastern side, and the flowers and the mountain were on the west, so we walked almost to the road, and turned around and did it the 'right' way. Much more satisfying than doing it as a loop. The mountain goat we are sure we saw last year was in hiding, but everything else was out. A rare day.
