Trip Report

Talapus and Olallie Lakes — Saturday, Mar. 7, 1998

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Pratt Lake Trail #1007. The trail is muddy to about 2500 foot elevation where the snow takes over. Snowshoes are not required on the well-packed trail, but are needed around Olallie Lake. The lake is completely iced and there is eight feet of snow. The snow bridge across the outlet creek is still crossable. We travelled along the east side of the lake, which is something that can't be easily done in summer due to brush. We intercepted the Pratt Lake Trail above Olallie Lake's north side. The apparent trail ended at the overlook above the lake, and an ice axe is required for travel beyond. There are plenty of bunny tracks.
