Went up Jolly Creek and
upper Sasse Ridge trails to the summit. My 15 year old 100 hikes book didn't mention the first two miles are through a 10 year old clearcut (nice views though). Lost trail about 1/2m below Sasse Ridge junction due to snow cover in basin. Patcy snow on ridge and 2' on summit. A Rocky Mountain type thunderstorm passed overhead just as I left the summit. Stood under a tree below the upper ridge trying to stay dry and avoid some one-second-away lightning bolts and some hail. The only folks I saw were hunkered down in a tent under some trees on the lower ridge waiting out the end of the storm on my way down. I returned via the logging road - it was a real grind back down to the horse camp trailhead. No snow on road, but it is gated at 2.5m due to logging on backside of Sasse Ridge. A long day, ~16m/4k'.
