I origianlly intended to go to Excelsior Pass via Damfino Lakes but the views from the road showed that it was still under heavy snow, while Canyon Ridge showed some melted out slopes and looked more inviting.
The road is still snowed in a little under two miles from the trailhead. The trail itself is about 90% snowcovered with some of the upper meadow slopes (south facing) snow free and blooming with avalanche lilies. Very nice views of Baker and the Cheam Range to the North in B.C.
