We have started in bellevue around 8.20A.M and reached the trail head by about 9.15. This is our first time on this trail and It was a great day for hiking. We didn't have any difficulty in finding the road leading to the trail: past 35th MP on HWY 2 east.
We started around 9.20. It was an easy hike for the first 1.5 to 2 miles. The last 2 miles was much harder including snow in the last 1/2 mile. We enjoyed the beautiful views along the way and the views near the lake made us feel it was well worth the effort to get to the lake. It took us 3.5 hours to get reach the lake (0.5 hour for the 0.5 mile on the snow).
It took us about 2.5 hours for uneventful walk back to trailhead. It was scarier to walk on the snow while coming back.
All in all, we enjoyed hiking on this well-maintained trail.. We plan to go again in April or whenever the snow on the trail disappears.
