Ira Spring Trail - Mason Lake — Saturday, Mar. 12, 2005

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

I hiked up to Mason Lake on Sunday morning. The lake is 90% thawed and by mid week it should be 100% thawed. There are 2 SMALL patches of snow approaching the lake but that's it! The trail up to the Bandera/Mason Lake junction is dry and dusty - like mid summer. The parking lot was full when we arrived around 9:30am and packed when we left around 2:30pm. A great hike. **There is a downed tree as you approach Mason Lake that lies across the trail. It's big enough that you need a good saw to remove it.
