Dog Mountain — Friday, May. 5, 2006

Southwest Washington > Columbia River Gorge - WA
Balsam root
Trail is open and in very good shape. We took the more difficult route up and the easier one down. Balsam root are blooming, but not quite at their peak yet. It was VERY windy once we got out of the forest...bring a windproof fleece! We hiked relatively slow, it took us 5 hours and 45 minutes to complete the hike, including breaks. The views from the open meadows are fantastic! See more pictures at: http://www.elsnab.dk/thomas/06MAY2006.htm
