Trip Report

CCC Road: Blowout Creek Trailhead — Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
All week I had been planning for a climb of Green Mt. After hours of route research I found myself even more confused. I could not find any definitive route descriptions everthing seemed a litte sketchy. I wanted to use the climber's trail to summit Mt Teneriffe and follow the ridge to Green Mt's summit. I had a good view last week of the ridge route and it seemed to have long portions of rockslide which I would guess provide open and easy travel. With the prediction of the biggest rain storm in 10 years I decided instead to do some field research. I got an early 7am start and slogged my way to the Teneriffe school bus turnaround and parked. I was a litte suprised to find the runoff to be mostly mild. Instead of following the Teneriffe logging road I followed the mainline of the road until it dead ended. There was a boot path that I followed for 200 ft of elevation gain. The bootpath acquires the SE Ridge of Teneriffe. I have heard rumours of another climber's route to Teneriffe's summit,I cannot be sure if this is that route. I backtracked to the CCC Road and followed this to just past the East Ridge of Green Mt. I was hoping to find some sort of boot path but none was found. I trudged my way back to the car. The weather only grew worse as the day wore on. The road was now mostly a torrent. The Middle Fork seemed to have nearly doubled in size during the time of this trip. I sure derived quite a bit of pleasure to the reaction of some of the local residents. 3 different cars stopped to tell me what they thought of my escapades. Crazy was the most used word in these conversations. Approx 8 very soggy miles
