The trail started out very nice and mostly clear, well maintained. At about 2.5 miles in we started coming across snow on the trail. It started with maybe 20 ft sections to traverse, but at around 3 miles in, right before the bridge over some unnamed creek, you start to lose the trail. With a bit of exploring you will find the bridge (it's a few hundred feet up the creek or so) from then on you will only get glimpses of the trail for the most part. There is enough footprints that you can follow to stay more or less with the trail until you get to the meadow. The trail is basically straight from the bridge, so it's not hard to follow.
Once you reach the meadow you will have a gorgeous view of Governors ridge covered in snow. The entire meadow is covered in hard-pack snow so snowshoes aren't necessary. There were a few bare patches where wildflowers are starting to come up. This is definitely the time of year to go on this hike, the melting snow makes this area amazing.
