Kendall Katwalk, Gravel Lake - Ridge Lake — Sunday, Jul. 27, 2008

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Trail in fine condition with a few easily passable snow patches near the Katwalk. Spring run-off waterfalls now easily passable. Katwalk itself snow free but beyond to Gravel Lake the trail is 50 % snow-covered and requires some cross-country navigational skills. A couple of nearly snow-free campsites near Gravel lake which is 2/3rds melted(ice still covers the south shore). Ridge Lake at about the same degree of melt-out as Gravel. Walked up on 2 small deer nibbling spring greenery just north of the Katwalk and tracks of a much larger deer(?) near the lake. Bugs not a problem for us but they were keeping the deer close company. Wild flowers out in all their splendor.
