If you haven't been, go. This hike set a new bar for incredible day hikes in Washington.

The trail to Ingalls Pass has some snow patches but all are easily passable, and a couple of blowdowns that are not too bad. At the pass, there were quite a few bugs, but they mostly left us alone on the rest of the trail. Beyond the pass, route finding because a bit tricky, as much of the trail is on snow, but following boot paths and having a general idea of where the lake is was sufficient. There's still a good 5-8 feet of snow over much of this stretch, so it may be here a while.

The lake itself is still pretty much frozen.

Road Accessability

How is access to the trailhead?

USFS is reporting a mudslide on the North Fork Teanaway Road making it passable to high clearance vehicles only.

Road Conditions

As of a week ago (7/22), the road was in fine shape for all vehicles. (I had called ahead to the Cle Elum Ranger District). There is a pretty significant washout area above the road, and you can see where the road had previous issues. If it storms again like it did when the damage occurred, it may wash out again. That's why the recommend high-clearance only - I had no problem at all in my compact sedan, but had it rained heavily during the hike, I would have been concerned about getting back.
