Type of Hike
Day hike
It was a great day to escape the rain in Seattle and head over the pass to Yakima and Cowiche Canyon. We did get a little bit of rain for 15 minutes or so but the rest of the day was great with peek-a-boo blue sky and a temperature in the mid-60s.
This was a wildflower hike with the Mountaineers and the Canyon did not disappoint. There was lots of flowers in bloom and some with seed heads from last year.
The rock formations are breathtaking.
This is an easy hike. The trail is well-maintained and there are 9 foot bridges that cross through a creek that winds through the canyon.
