Little Mashel Falls - Bud Blancher Trail — Monday, Apr. 6, 2015

Mount Rainier Area > SW - Longmire/Paradise
Mud dog.

We began from the new Bud Blanchard trailhead on Weyerhauser Rd. S. in Eatonville so that we could enjoy the two new cedar bridges that the Tacoma Wheelman's Club helped fund. Right after the second bridge over the Little Mashel River, we turned L onto the river trail through the woods to Lower Mashel Falls. It had rained the night prior so the trail was very muddy in places, but we joked that usually you have to pay for mud obstacles in events and we were getting it for free. The remaining trails to the upper falls were well drained. Nice flow coming over each of the drops. My dog loved fetching rocks out of the pools. We hiked out through Pack Forest to extend our distance to over 7 miles.
