WTA volunteers spent four long days clearing the Eagle Creek - Oval Lakes Loop, including the spur trail to Middle and East Oval Lakes. There is still some brush, but the trail is otherwise now clear and in good condition. Pics are at the link below. Wildflowers are still going crazy. Water is low but plentiful. There's no snow. We heard but did not see pika and marmots. Thimbleberries and blue huckleberries provide nice trailside treats.
Over 24 miles, 7,860' gain (and loss), more than 85 logs, brushing, and some tread work = a solid four days!!

Pictures and Hard Work
Thanks for the great report, additional pictures, and all the hard work. After having done the trail work survey report for the USFS in June, your pictures brought back memories. I am impressed with the team's skill at removing the large logs below West Oval Lake and the jumble of logs above the second ford of Eagle Cr.

now you can return for an easy(er) hike!
Thanks for your scouting work and the nice note, Rolan! We had a great time clearing the logs and doing a few other bits of maintenance, not to mention hiking through gorgeous country and refreshing swims in Tuckaway and West Oval Lakes. The logs you mention were particularly fun. You can now re-hike the loop with relative ease. Just bring a pair of loppers, would you? We couldn't get to all the brushing. ;)
Safe, happy hiking!
