Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
7.7mi RT 1290m ascent. There are apparently lots of Yeti that use this trail. Descending from the saddle was indeed worse than from the tower, despite the latter being generally steeper and ``closer to the edge''. The saddle descent leads down through the 'meadow', which is just steep enough to fall on your butt and, being at a lower elevation, the snow was more slushy. Usually this is not a big problem: One simply walks in the footsteps, which, being more-packed snow, tend to be more solid. Alas, when going downhill you have to be able to get from one step to the next without falling down with your legs under you or otherwise over-extending your knees. This is rather difficult when the footsteps are in excess of six feet apart, and the steps down about the same. I'm quite certain some eighteen-feet tall... creatures have been using this trail.
