Hiking Golf Course Trail - Newcastle

The Golf Course Trail is part of the trail network running through the residential town of Newcastle. It can be accessed from its two end points along Golf Club Road, at 136^th Ave. (western end) and 155^th Ave. (eastern end).

This wide and flat trail parallels Golf Club Road along a forested band. The trail itself runs in a straight line but can be combined with other trails to form a loop. One notable connection is with the Coal Creek Trail, which leads into Cougar Mountain Park.

Getting There

Pick up the trail at the intersection of 136^th Ave. SE and Golf Club Road. From I-405, take exit 10 and head SE on Coal Creek Parkway for 2.8 miles. Turn left onto Newcastle Way for 0.2 mile, then turn left onto 133^rd Ave./Golf Club Road for 0.3 mile. The trail starts on the south side of Coal Creek Parkway at its intersection with 136^th Ave. Find street parking nearby.

Take Transit

Take the bus to the trailhead! Plan your trip using TOTAGO, or consult the schedule for King County Metro routes 114 and 240, which stop at the intersection of Newcastle Way and 132^nd Place, about a half mile from the start of the trail.
