Enjoy this flat route for the entire 7 miles as it rolls along beside the Columbia, or simply take in a small section. It's a delightful walk for most of the year, though in the height of summer temperatures can reach triple digits, so try and save your exercise for early morning or late at night in that weather.
Regardless of temperature, there is minimal shade along the trail so take a hat, plenty of water and sun screen. There are many places to exit the trail into town to a store but if you want to hike the whole thing only one way then you will need two cars. One can park at Columbia Point Marina Park and the other at The USS Triton Memorial or the hike will be fourteen miles round-trip. The views of the Columbia River are fantastic and can be seen the whole 7 miles along the trail.
