50 years we have lived here and spent many a days, mornings and/or evenings walking down the hill to the beach we call home. Its awesome to have something so cool and full of interesting history (more on that next time) right from your front door.
However this time was the most people I have ever seen in the area, let alone parked to go down the mile long path to the beach. The first pic is from 56th ave which is 1/2 mile from the undersized parking lot. This was the same pic evident from every single side street in the area. A word of caution as some of the residents in this area are sensitive to their yards etc (completely understood) and will have illegal cars ticketed/towed on occasion.
The trail is in great shape although the park itself was disappointing. Nobody has been here for quite some time except the onsite ranger and yet the grass was knee deep throughout the picnic area. There are still outhouses open at the top of the trail and 2 at the bottom.
Tides are swinging and there is a lot of fun to be found on low tide here.
Happy Trails
